Sea Explorers of Korea is the only non-profit youth organization dedicated to instilling in youth the importance of maritime preservation and cherishing our rich ocean heritage. In 1962, it was established as a organization namely Sea Scout under Boy Scout of Korea. In May 24, 1980, it transformed into independent youth organization as a corporate body under the control of Korea Maritime and Port Administration, then renamed as Sea Explorers of Korea. In 1984, as a legal basis for the act of organization, a law to support Sea Explorers of Korea was enacted in the National Assembly. Now, it is a corporate body under the control of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

Sea Explorers of Korea is serving the youth by opening new pathways to build maritime awareness and contribute to the development of the world's oceans and prosperity of the country through maritime education and training.
